Abstract: We used the IRAM Interferometer to map the J=1-0 and J=2-1 lines of tex2html_wrap_inline1711 as well as the continuum at 112 and 225 GHz of the W3(OH) region. Towards the cluster of water masers W3( tex2html_wrap_inline1713 ) we observed compact continuum emission at both frequencies with spectral index of 3.6 from hot dust emission. The tex2html_wrap_inline1711 maps show more extended gas with the most massive molecular clump towards W3( tex2html_wrap_inline1713 ) and none towards W3(OH) itself. We derive a peak column density of tex2html_wrap_inline1719   tex2html_wrap_inline1721 at the tex2html_wrap_inline1713 maser position. Dust and line fluxes are both consistent with a mass of 10  tex2html_wrap_inline1725 . Peaks of molecular line channel maps of tex2html_wrap_inline1711 , tex2html_wrap_inline1729 , and tex2html_wrap_inline1731 show an E-W orientation similar to the cluster of tex2html_wrap_inline1713 masers.
