Title : A MAMBO survey of star forming cores for the c2d Spitzer Legacy Program

Abstract :
We used the MAMBO bolometer cameras to survey a sample of star forming cores also observed
by the Spitzer Legacy Program "From Molecular Cores to Planet Forming Disks". Our dust
emission maps reveal extended dust cores as well as point sources which are likely to be young
stellar objects. The present work lays the foundations for the interpretation of Spitzer observations.
For example the density structure and core masses can be compared between cores with and
without point sources. We illustrate the interpretation of our observations by comparing them to
our model of hydrostatic cores supported against gravity by a mix of thermal, turbulent, and
magnetic pressure.
