| We used the MAMBO bolometer cameras to survey a sample of star forming cores also observed | |||||||
| by the Spitzer Legacy Program "From Molecular Cores to Planet Forming Disks". Our dust | |||||||
| emission maps reveal extended dust cores as well as point sources which are likely to be young | |||||||
| stellar objects. The present work lays the foundations for the interpretation of Spitzer observations. | |||||||
| For example the density structure and core masses can be compared between cores with and | |||||||
| without point sources. We illustrate the interpretation of our observations by comparing them to | |||||||
| our model of hydrostatic cores supported against gravity by a mix of thermal, turbulent, and | |||||||
| magnetic pressure. | |||||||
