GILDAS
GILDAS, the "Grenoble Image and Line Data Analysis Software", is
a collection of software developped by the
Observatoire de Grenoble
and IRAM,
oriented towards radioastronomy applications.
- An Introduction to GILDAS,
gives the basic concepts of GILDAS and a summary of the tools
available.
- The SIC Manual,
SIC (the Simple Interpretor of Commands) is the command monitor
on which all GILDAS programs are based.
- The GREG Manual,
GREG, the GREnoble Graphics, is a general purpose graphic package.
- The ASTRO Manual,
ASTRO, A Software To pRepare Observations, is a simple astronomical
package to plot source visibilities, compute observing frequency
setup, etc...
- The CLASS Manual,
CLASS, the Continuum and Line Analysis Simple Software, is the
single-dish data reduction of the 30-m telescope. CLASS is used
in many other radio observatories, and can also process optical
or IR data.
- CLIC Manual.
CLIC, the Continuum and Line Interferometer Calibration, is
a dedicated program for calibration of the IRAM Plateau de Bure data.
- Mapping Manual.
This document presents guidelines for producing images from IRAM
Plateau de Bure Interferometer data. Only the UV processing part is
specific to the interferometer, however, so that many of the image
display facilities can also be used for data from the 30-m telescope.
- NIC Manual.
NIC, (New Imaging Concept), is the data reduction package for
the bolometers used at the 30-m telescope.
- The GILDAS User Manual and Task Reference,
is a detailed manual about the numerous analysis tasks available
within GILDAS.
The following documents are useful for application programmers within the
GILDAS software, and for general users willing to insert new tasks in
this framework
- GILDAS programming guide,
gives all information required to develop application in GILDAS.
It describes how to use the SIC monitor, the GreG and GTVIRT graphic
libraries, and also how to implement new GILDAS tasks.
- Evolution of GILDAS,
gives the current status of planned upgrades for the GILDAS software.
GILDAS is freely available to non-profit institutes on an "as-is" basis.
Source code and Makefiles to rebuild the software is available for
several types of computers through anonymous ftp on iraux2.iram.fr,
directory dist/soft. The documentations are included with the software.
The documentations are also available as PostScript files on the Web.
They can also be retrieved from anonymous ftp on iraux2.iram.fr,
directory dist/doc/ps, or in compressed version (produced by the
Unix compress command) in directory dist/doc/comp.
