Important information regarding PdB observing proposals for the winter 2006-2007 observing period.

Proposers for the upcoming observing period are urged to consider the following information. The call for PdBI proposals published in this document refers to the receivers currently available on the Plateau de Bure antennas. There is a high probability that for the winter period a new generation of SIS receivers will be available on all the antennas of the interferometer (see the following Section for details). An important difference is that simultaneous dual-frequency observing will not be possible with the new receiver generation. As a consequence:

Please prepare your proposals by considering the currently available receivers. Should the new receivers be installed, we will help you make the necessary adjustments.

Please indicate clearly whether both frequency bands, 3mm AND 1.3mm are needed for your project. Note, that truly simultaneous dual frequency observations will not be possible with the new generation receivers.

In order to reduce confusion, we have prepared a call for proposals with the following format. All the information in normal script relates to issues regarding the current receivers. All the information you need to know about the new receivers is written in italic font. We urge you to consider the latter, in order to facilitate the possible transition, should the new receivers become available.
