ATLAS, an IRAM survey on AGB and post-AGB stars

ATLAS is an early-science Large Program aimed at investigating red giant evolution from the Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) to the Planetary Nebulae stage and the mechanisms and chronology of events involved in the mass loss process on the AGB. ATLAS is a survey-based program, on a sample of 46 evolved stars classified as AGB and post-AGB stars. The survey, which provides fully sampled high resolution maps of the CO (1-0) and (2-1) emission obtained at the Plateau de Bure Interferometer and the IRAM 30-meter telescope, aimed at studying the molecular properties of the circumstellar envelopes around these stars.
