The Northern Extended Millimeter Array (NOEMA) is a powerful but complex instrument. For this reason, and because observing a typical project requesting different array configurations is usually spread over several months, the actual observations are carried out by IRAM staff (the operator and the on-duty astronomer).
The Principal Investigator of a project will therefore not participate in the observations themselves, but will have to come to the IRAM headquarters in Grenoble for data calibration once the observations are finished.
